Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation seeks to educate and find a cure for cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that produces thick, sticky mucous that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. Breast Cancer Walk
Avon sponsors a two-day walk for breast cancer research in Los Angeles each year. People can support the organization by walking, donating to a person who is walking or working as a volunteer during the two-day, 39-mile walk. http://www.avonwalk.org/
Muscular Dystrophy Association
An educational and fund-raising organization for neuromuscular diseases, the Muscular Dystrophy Association supports gene therapy research that has identified the genetic basis for several neuromuscular disorders. Kidsave International
Kidsave International links children to families through adoptions, having orphaned children from around the world visit the United States and providing weekend opportunities for foster children in Los Angeles County.
